Azure Consulting Practice Manager

As one of Microsoft’s leading cloud partners, Sol-Tec are always looking for new talent. We are currently recruiting for an Azure Consulting Practice Manager to join our rapidly growing Cloud and Infrastructure team, who will be involved in a wide spectrum of activities leading to the success and growth of the team and of Sol-Tec as a whole.

The ideal candidate will bring a diverse IT and/or Management Consulting background and knowledge of industry IT trends within the Public Sector space, leveraging this credibility as a strategic advisor to our customers, partners and internally across Sol-Tec. Driving the delivery of high-quality engagements around Microsoft’s solution areas, technologies and products.

You will be based at our Headquarters in Reading for at least 50% of your time with remote working and visits to customer sites across the UK accounting for the rest of your working time.

People Management 

  • Sol-Tec’s people are the most vital part of our organisation. As Practice Manager you would be directly involved in managing your team’s success and development.

  • Manage various aspects of the employees’ demonstrated performance and career development and growth.

Financial & Engagement Management 

  • Ensure team profitability and revenue goals are attained by maximizing potential of team members, driving project profitability, and maximising the opportunity in Sol-Tec’s existing account.

  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and guidance to the project team resulting in project success and high client satisfaction.

  • Assist in resolution of project related issues by serving as a point of escalation for quality and technical issues.

Business Development and Client Relationship Management 

  • Actively manage sales pipeline of team by engaging with pre-sales, Project Management Office and architecture teams to drive solutions for team members.

  • Participate in pre-sales activities and the proposal development process.

  • Provide input into establishing project and client pricing based on project estimates, risk, profitability, etc.

  • Participate and supports client action plans, process improvements and the strategic account planning process.

Technical Skills 

  • Cloud Platforms: Azure or AWS IaaS and PaaS deployment and configuration

  • Scripting: JSON or Powershell

  • Messaging: Exchange or Office 365

  • CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, TeamCity or Azure Devops

  • Infrastructure as Code: Ansible or Terraform

  • Containerisation: Docker or rkt

  • Container orchestration: Kubernetes or Swarm

  • Unix: Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, or SUSE Linux
